Electric Kif

Bio:

ELECTRIC - having or producing a sudden sense of thrilling excitement
KIF - any agent [or music] capable of producing a euphoric condition

"Hailing from Miami, Electric Kif and their undeniable spunk has caught the attention of music lovers through their execution of cosmic funk, rock, soul, and jazz. Their taste and talent bring an unparalleled energy and sound to the stage that inevitably creates a uniquely raw experience through every performance.” - Kendall Delfin, Live for Live Music

Electric Kif are a group of session musicians who came together to write and perform in between sideman gigs for other artists raging from Matt Scofield to Flo Rida…and many more in between. After a couple of years of hosting well known jam sessions in Miami, with numerous talented guest musicians joining them, the members realized their original music was taking its own form and getting a great response from those who heard it. They decided to write more, record again, and dig into to creating their own sound.

The band came together creatively from very different backgrounds. Jason Mathews on keys proudly hails from Philadelphia, Rodrigo Zambrano on bass is from Mexico City, Eric Escances on guitar is from Grenoble & Bordeaux, France, and Armando Lopez on drums was born and raised in Miami. Their training and experience combined was bound to generate something special…but their energy and dedication has taken Electric Kif to another level.

Armed with their latest album, HEIST, which was recorded, produced, and mixed entirely by the quartet at City Of Progress Studio in North Miami, the Kif have been hitting the road hard. Electric Kif has performed with national acts such as Snarky Puppy, Kung Fu, The Main Squeeze, Naughty Professor, Stratosphere All-Stars, TR3 featuring Tim Reynolds, The Fritz, Progger, and Killiam Shakespeare, as well as South Florida’s finest Roosevelt Collier and The Heavy Pets through a series of deep south and northeast runs. They were honored to be invited to perform at the first annual Ground Up Festival this past February as well as Okeechobee Festival along with Roosevelt Collier’s Allstar Band. They will also be representing the best Florida bands at Orange Blossom Jamboree 2017.
